This position plays an active role in the Company's Lean initiative.Essential Competencies:
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY Execute assigned food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities ensuring support of SQF requirements, regulatory requirements, and customers' requirements. Report any questionable product to the Line Controller, QA, QC, Lead, or Production Supervisor before bringing to line. Follow and perform all activities in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and company policies. SAFETY AND HEALTH Successfully complete the mandatory E.A. Sween Quarterly Safety Training sessions for the purpose of complying with both OSHA regulations and E.A. Sween policy. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ensure all exit doors and walkways are not blocked. LEADERSHIP Assist in providing a friendly, positive work environment. Follow the policies and procedures of E.A. Sween Company. Respect and cooperate with any work duties requested of you by your Supervisor, Lead, or Line Controller. Maintain a good attendance record. Must be flexible as it relates to the basic work schedule. COST/CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Control and watch for material waste (i.e., floor waste, over portioning of raw material on sandwiches). Notify maintenance immediately if problems arise with equipment. Contribute to process improvements and participate in lean activities. PRODUCTION Scan/ Receive bread by lot code and quantity using handheld device. Transfer bread to and from various locations using handheld device. While unloading the trailers of bread, monitor the condition of the products and the trailer for pest infestation and other objectionable materials. Make sure that all stacks of bread/buns are clearly labeled with the date it was manufactured and, if necessary, the date it was frozen, and the date it was taken out of the freezer. Line up bread in order of date and use per line in bread staging area. Perform and monitor inventory counts throughout the production week. Remove any empty racks and dollies from bread prep area. Make sure to put the correct racks and dollies on the correct supplier's trailer. Ensure all remaining bread/buns are stored properly and damaged items are disposed of and accounted for on the proper paperwork. Sweep the bread/ bun dock area floor as needed. Ensure there is no debris in the aisle. Record any product disposed of on the proper paperwork and give to the Data Center so that bread balancing can take place. Previous food related experience. Physical Environment:
